Every two minutes, a woman loses her life due to complications related to pregnancy or childbirth. Pious Projects is committed to addressing these urgent needs in conflict-ridden and disaster-affected regions such as Gaza and Mali.

Our goal is to provide highly-trained, dignified care to mothers so they can partake in this beautiful journey with minimized risk and less fear of what's to come. With the construction of our hospitals, mothers will receive prenatal care, labor and delivery services, postpartum care, lactation services, surgical interventions, and much more.

Out of Gaza's 2.2 million inhabitants, over 1.9 million have been displaced. Among the most vulnerable are the 540,000 women and girls of reproductive age, comprising

roughly one-quarter of the territory's population. An estimated 5,500 women are expected to give birth within the next month, with over 180 deliveries

occurring daily. Tragically, approximately 840 of these women are anticipated to experience complications during pregnancy or childbirth.This project aims to establish a field maternity and neonatal hospital in Gaza to address the

critical healthcare needs of pregnant women and newborns. Through its

comprehensive, flexible, adaptable, and conflict-sensitive approach, Pious

Projects Maternity and Neonatal Hospital aims to strengthen the overall health

and resilience of the target population, thereby reducing mortality and

morbidity rates among women and newborns and improving the capacity of the

local health system.

The Pious Projects field maternity and neonatal hospital will provide basic and comprehensive emergency obstetric and neonatal care.

The exact location for

implementing this project depends on various factors, including permits,

security, coordination with other partners, and accessibility, among others. 

Pious Projects has already

established a communication and coordination channel to secure access to Gaza.

The results are positive and we expect to receive authorization and enter Gaza

within a few weeks. The planned location will be in Khan Younes or Rafah, among

others. The final location will be determined based on the secured permits.

Project Budget Phase 1: $1,000,000 Infrastructure & Equipment + $300k for first 6 months running cost.  Once in operation, we would be able to receive grants from many organizations to cover operating costs.
